Learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage
We follow the Early Learning Goals of the Foundation Stage. Children’s learning in Nursery and Reception lays a firm foundation for their future learning by supporting, fostering and promoting children’s;
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
- Understanding the World.
- Physical Development.
- Expressive Arts and Design.
- Communication and Language.
Children in Nursery and Reception benefit from both indoor and outdoor learning through play. They have time to learn as separate classes and as a shared unit enabling all children to achieve their individual potential.
When your children come home from school each day don’t only ask them ‘What have you done today?’ also ask them ‘What have you learned today?’
The DfE has produced a guidance document, ‘Early Years Outcomes.’ (Sept 2013)
This document is available for download at;
